Illinois and the AMA Guides

The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act has adopted several changes including how permanent partial disability (PPD) awards are determined.

The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Sixth Edition is to be used per Sec. 8.1b. House Bill 1698 Section 8.1b applies to injuries that occur on or after September 1, 2011. The impact of the adoption of impairment guidelines was examined in Joe Paduda's webblog on Managed Care Matters.
